# Your license key

> Find your key in Settings or at resurf.so/license/manage, and recover it if the email is gone.

## Copy it from Settings

1. On a licensed Mac, open **Settings → Account**.
2. Under **License**, the **Key** row shows the first and last four characters. Click **Copy** to put the full key on the clipboard.

## Recover it on the web

1. Go to [resurf.so/license/manage](https://resurf.so/license/manage) and enter the email you used at checkout.
2. Enter the 6-digit code from the email. It expires in 10 minutes.
3. Your licenses appear with their plan, update window and activated Macs. Click **Reveal** to see a key, or **Copy** to copy it.

Can't get in? Email [support@resurf.so](mailto:support@resurf.so) from the address you bought with.

## Your device ID

**Settings → Account** also has a **Device ID** row with **Copy**. Support may ask for it when a key won't activate or a device won't deactivate. It identifies this Mac to the license server and nothing else.

## Questions

### I bought with an email I no longer use.

Email support@resurf.so with your order details and we'll move the license to your current address.

### Does erasing my library remove the license?

No. Settings → Data → Reset says Your license stays active, and it does. Only Deactivate under Devices frees the slot.
