## Write a note

A note's title comes from its text.

2. Type in the editor. Press `/` for commands, or use the **Format note** button.
3. Press `⌘⏎` to save.

On iPhone and iPad:

1. Tap the plus button, then **Note**.
2. Type your note.
3. Tap the checkmark. The **Organize** step follows. See [After you save](https://resurf.so/guides/receipt).

## Add to a note you already have

On Mac:

1. In the widget's Note step, press `⌘P` or click **Browse notes**.
2. Type to search, or pick from **Recent notes**.
3. The note opens in the widget and saves as you type.
4. Press `⌘⏎` or `Esc` when you're done. `⌘N` goes back to a new note.

## Save a quote

A quote is set in a serif, so it reads apart from your own notes.

On Mac:

1. Press `⌘⇧C`, then `Q`.
2. Type or paste the quote.
3. Optionally fill in **Source** with a name or a web link.
4. Press `⌘⏎`, or `Return` in Source, to save.

On iPhone and iPad:

1. Tap the plus button, then **Quote**.
2. Type or paste the quote, and optionally a **Source**.
3. Tap the checkmark. The **Organize** step follows.

A web link in Source becomes the capture's source, and its site shows on the card. Any other text is saved as the quote's attribution.

## Questions

Yes. In the Note step, press ⌘P to open Browse notes and pick one. It saves as you type.
