# Send captures to an agent

> Open Claude, Codex, Cursor or another agent with a draft that carries your captures, then send it yourself.

## Send captures

1. Right-click a capture, or a selection, and choose **Send to agent**.
2. Pick **Claude**, **Codex** or **Cursor** to open a draft right away. Only the ones installed on your Mac are listed. Or pick **More options…** to add a question first.
3. In **More options…**, type what you want to ask, or leave it blank, and press `Return` or click **Open in** and the agent's name.
4. Review the draft in the agent and send it there.

Resurf never sends anything on its own. It only opens a draft.

## Other places to start

- The **Capture actions** menu at the top of an open capture.
- A Space in the sidebar: right-click it and choose **Send to agent…** to send every capture in it that isn't in the Trash.
- The inspector, when several captures are selected or a Space is open: **Send to agent…**
- The agent marks at the right of the library's foot bar, in a Space or while you have a selection. Hover them and pick an agent.

## What the agent gets

- **Full context.** An agent [connected](https://resurf.so/guides/connect-agents) to this library gets a link it reads through Resurf: the captures with their notes, highlights, comments and file paths.
- **Text only.** An agent that isn't connected gets the captures' text in the draft. Click **Connect** in the composer's notice to set it up.
- **With files.** **Claude Cowork** gets a folder with the text and the original files.
- **ChatGPT in browser** copies the text for you and opens chatgpt.com, where you paste it.

Pick **Claude Cowork** or **ChatGPT in browser** from the agent chip in **More options…**

## Copy or export instead

- **Copy as Markdown** copies the captures as Markdown, plus any question you typed. It's in the **Send to agent** menu and the composer's **More ways to send** menu.
- **Export files…** saves a folder with the captures' text and every original file, and shows it in Finder. It's in the composer's **More ways to send** menu.

## Questions

### Does it send my captures automatically?

No. It opens a draft in the agent, and you send it there.

### Why did the agent get a copy of the text instead of a link?

It isn't connected to this library in Settings → MCP, so it can't read a Resurf link. Click Connect in the composer's notice to set it up.

### The agent says it can't find the captures.

The link is more than 30 days old, came from another Mac or library, or the agent isn't connected to Resurf. Send the captures again.
