# Share menu and Services

> Send things to Resurf from other Mac apps through the Share menu, the Services menu or a resurf:// link.

## Share menu

You can share up to 20 files or images, 10 movies and 10 links at once.

1. In any app with a Share button, choose **Resurf**.
2. Resurf saves the items to the Inbox and shows its receipt. See [After you save](https://resurf.so/guides/receipt).

## Services menu

- **Capture to Resurf** works out the type: text, a link, an image or files.
- **Send text to Resurf** saves the selection as a note.
- **Send link to Resurf** saves the first web link.

All three save to the Inbox.

1. Select text, a link, an image or files.
2. Open the app's Services menu and choose a Resurf item, or press `⇧⌘E` for **Capture to Resurf**.

macOS shows a service only when the selection fits it.

## From scripts and automations

Open a resurf://new link to save something, for example:

`resurf://new?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&tags=read,later`

- `url` saves a link.
- `content` saves text as a note, when there's no `url`.
- `title` sets the title.
- `tags` takes comma-separated tags.
- `spaces` takes comma-separated space IDs, not names.
- `note` is added as a comment.
- `isPinned` takes true or false.

A link with neither `url` nor `content` is ignored.

## Questions

### Can I file into a space from a resurf:// link?

Yes, with spaces= and the space's ID. Space names don't work.

### Why did my note= text become a comment?

A resurf://new link adds note as a comment on the capture. Use content for the text of a note.

### A Resurf item is missing from the Services menu.

macOS shows a service only when the selection fits it. Select text, a link, an image or files first.
