# Social posts

> When you save a post from X, Instagram, Threads or Pinterest that has photos or video, choose whether to keep the media or just the link.

## Media or link

A post with no media is saved as a link without asking, and links saved in a batch are saved as links. Several photos or videos from one post are grouped into one tile, titled with the author's handle.

On Mac:

1. Save the post's link, for example from the widget, by pasting or dropping it, or from a browser extension.
2. If the post has photos or video, Resurf asks **Capture media or link?**
3. Press `Return` for the media or `⌘L` for the link, or click the button. On the receipt, tick **Remember my choice** to stop asking.

On iPhone and iPad:

1. Share the post to **Save to Resurf**, or save its link in the app.
2. The sheet asks **Save the link or the media?**
3. Tap **Keep the link** or **Save the media**. Turn on **Remember my choice** to stop asking.

## Set a default

On Mac, open **Settings → General → Social link capture**. On iPhone and iPad, open **Settings → Social link capture**. Choose **Ask each time** (the default), **Media** or **Link**.

To change a remembered choice, come back to this setting.

### How do I stop the question?

Pick Media or Link in Social link capture, or tick Remember my choice when it asks.

### Why did my post save as one tile with several images?

You chose Media. The photos and videos from one post are grouped into one tile.

### Does this work for TikTok or YouTube?

No. It covers X, Instagram, Threads and Pinterest.
