# Sort and shuffle

> Change the order of your library: newest first, recently updated, best match or random.

## Change the order

The library starts with **Newest first**, by the date you saved each capture.

On Mac:

1. Press `⌘L`, or click the **Display** button at the foot of the library.
2. Under **Sort**, choose **Newest first**, **Recently updated** or **Random**. **Best match** is listed while a search is on.

On iPhone and iPad:

1. Tap the search field at the top of the library.
2. Tap the **Recent** pill to sort by recently updated, or type “random” and tap **Random**.
3. To go back, remove the sort chip.

## Best match

When you type words or add a color, the order switches to **Best match**, with the closest matches first. Clear the words and it goes back to **Newest first**.

## Shuffle

On Mac, the die at the bottom-left corner of the library shuffles it.

1. Press `⇧⌘R`, or click the die.
2. Click it again for a new order.
3. To undo, click the arrow beside the die. It goes back to the order you had.

A shuffled order stays the same until you shuffle again.

### How do I undo a shuffle?

Click the arrow next to the die, for example Back to newest first.
