Content types and dates aren't typed. Type “pdf” or “this week” and pick the suggestion.
Filters
Narrow the library by tag, space, type, color, date or status.
- Open
- ⌘/on Mac
- On
- Mac, iPhone, iPad
Type a filter
In search, type one of these and press Return. It becomes a chip.
- “#” and a tag name, like “#ideas”: a tag you added.
- “@” and a space's exact name, like “@Work”: that space.
- “is:untagged”, “is:unopened” or “is:unenriched”: captures with no tags, never opened, or without AI details yet.
- A color name, like “blue”, or a hex value, like “#ff6600”: images and colors with that color.
Pick a suggestion
As you type, search suggests filters that match: spaces, tags, content types, sources such as YouTube, Reddit or GitHub, colors, dates, and Pinned, Untagged, Not enriched or Unopened. Typing “#” lists only tags, and “@” only spaces.
On Mac, choose a row in the search bar. On iPhone and iPad, tap a pill under the field.
Use the Filters panel
Press ⌘/ or click the filter button at the bottom of the library.
Click a pill under Content type, Status or Date to turn it on or off. Each one adds a chip under the title.
Press ⌘/ again, or click the button, to close.
Tap the filter button at the right end of the search field.
Tap tiles, rows or chips to turn them on or off. The sheet has Capture types, Organization, Spaces, Tags, Date, Smart filters and Colors.
Tap Clear to remove them all, or close the sheet to go back.
The Mac panel has no tags, spaces or colors. Type them in search.
How filters add up
- Filters of different kinds all apply: a type and a tag show captures that have both.
- With several types, tags, spaces or sources, a capture needs only one of them.
- With several statuses, a capture needs all of them.
Remove a chip with its ×. On Mac, ⌫ in an empty search field removes the last chip, and Clear or ⌥⌫ removes them all; you can undo it.
Questions
Where is the tag or space filter on Mac?
Type # or @ in search. The Mac Filters panel has no tag or space section.
Why didn't @design become a chip?
It becomes a space chip only when a space with exactly that name exists. Otherwise it searches the words.
Why does a #tag chip miss captures with that AI tag?
A #tag chip matches only tags you added. Typed words still find AI-suggested tags.
