Turn it on

Similar is a Beta on Mac. It runs a model on your Mac, so the first time it downloads the model and reads your library once.

  1. Select a capture and press ⇧⌘\, or click Similar at the top of the Info pane.

  2. Click Turn on. The model downloads, then Resurf reads your library. Progress shows in the tab.

  3. Once it's read, the tab shows captures like this one, closest first.

Turn on also turns on search by meaning.

Use the Similar tab

  1. Click a cover to open it. ⌥-click opens it beside, and ⌘-click picks it.

  2. Narrow with the pills at the top, such as Notes or Images.

  3. Hover a cover to see what the two share, such as the same site or a tag.

  4. At the foot, click Show all in library to see them in the library, or Select to pick several.

When several of these are in a space this capture isn't in, the tab offers to Add it there.

Other ways in

  • Find similar. Right-click a capture. The library shows a Similar to chip with the closest captures first. Remove the chip to go back.
  • Peek similar. Right-click a capture, or click the Similar pill in a Peek, to step through similar captures.
  • Like these. Select two or more captures and click Find similar in the Info pane, or press ⇧⌘\.
  • Might belong in. At the end of a space, captures from elsewhere that fit. Hover one and click +, or click Add all.

Peek similar works once your library has been read. Set Similar up in the tab first.

Hide it

The Similar tab shows for every Mac user. To hide it, turn off Show beside Info in Settings → Experiments → Similar captures. That also hides Find similar, Peek similar and Might belong in.
