Ask your library

Ask AI is a docked pane, not a chatbot floating over everything. It searches your vault, reads the captures it finds, and cites them.

Turn it on with your own key

AI is off by default. In Settings → AI, add your own OpenAI key. Nothing leaves your Mac for any AI service until you do.

Ask, get cited answers

Press ⌘J. Ask a question and it searches your vault, reads what it finds, and answers with the sources shown as tiles you can open. If nothing matches, it says so rather than making something up.

About the thing you're looking at

Open a capture first, then ⌘J (or hover its card and press A). The capture comes along as context, with quick prompts to Summarize, Explain, or Analyze it.
