Attach the people behind a capture, which is most useful for quotes.

Add an author

A capture can have several authors.

Select the capture and open the inspector (⌘\).
Click Add under Authors. Or right-click the capture and choose Add author.
Search your authors, or type a new name and choose Create author “name”.
To remove one, click the x on its chip.

Open the capture, tap More, then Authors.
Search, or tap New author “name” to create one.

Names ignore case, so “seneca” finds “Seneca” instead of making a second one.

Authors on quotes

Author names show on quote covers and in the quote reader. When you save a quote with a Source that isn't a link, that name becomes its author.

On Mac, when a quote's typed attribution names someone who isn't linked yet, the Authors row offers a pill such as Make Seneca an author. Click it to link the name. The typed attribution stays.

Questions

How do I see everything by one author?

Search for their name. There's no author view or filter.

How do I fix a misspelled author?

Authors can't be renamed or deleted. Remove it from the capture and add the right name.

Can I add an author to several captures at once?

No. Add authors one capture at a time.
