You can't reorder captures inside a stack. New ones go to the end.
Stacks and posts
A stack is a small pile of two or more captures, shown as one tile.
- Needs
- 2 or more captures
- On
- Mac, iPhone, iPad
Make a stack
A name is optional. To select several captures, see Work with a selection.
Drag a card onto another card. When the target says Create stack, let go.
Or select two or more captures, right-click, and choose Create stack.
To add more, open the stack and drag or paste captures into it.
Select two or more captures.
Tap Stack on the bulk bar, then New stack. Or pick a stack under Add to existing.
Change a stack
Click or tap a stack to open it. Right-click the tile on Mac, or long-press it on iPhone and iPad, for its actions:
- Rename stack gives it a name.
- Promote to space turns the stack into a space with the same captures.
- Delete stack (keep items) on Mac, or Unstack, removes the stack and keeps the captures.
- Delete stack & items asks first, then moves the captures to the Trash for 30 days.
To take one capture out, right-click it on Mac, or open its Actions sheet on iPhone and iPad, and choose Remove from followed by the stack's name.
Posts
When you save two or more images or videos from the same X, Instagram, Threads or Pinterest post, Resurf keeps them together as a stack of their own. Stacks from X and Threads are named after the account's handle. New media from the same post join it. After that, a post works like any other stack.
Questions
Does search find captures inside a stack?
Yes. With a search or filter on, stacked captures show one by one.
Why did my stack disappear?
A stack needs at least 2 captures. When it drops below 2 it goes away, and its captures stay.
Why don't I see stacks in the Inbox?
Stacks show in Library and inside a space, when no search or filter is on. In the Inbox and Starred, their captures show one by one.
